Happy New Year!!
Well, it’s 2009! 2008 was for me, in a nutshell, a rollercoaster. Let’s hope 2009 is a little more sane. I found this little survey on the internet and had so much fun filling it out, I thought I’d share it with you:
1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?
Nothing major, really. Went to the Outer Banks. Played a wii. Went to a bar on New Year’s Eve (that counts).
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn’t make any resolutions last year. I don’t think I will this year either. I guess year after year of not keeping resolutions, I kind of gave up on making them.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not that I know of
4. Did anyone close to you die?
People have died that are close to the people I am close to. I have heard more bad new in the past few months than should ever be acceptable.
5. What countries did you visit?
The good old USA. I left the state twice, once to North Carolina and once to NYC.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
More money, of course. A college DIPLOMA (in May). And maybe a better job?
7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
September 4th when I started dating SB.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting a raise at work. I wanted it, I asked for it and I got it!
9. What was your biggest failure?
Gaining some weight
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had a small case of precancerous skin cancer that needed surgery to remove, but that went smoothly. Besides that, I’ve been illness free!
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Hmmm… honestly, most of 2008 lacked money, so nothing major. I’d say the presents I bought my loved ones for Christmas, just to see their happy smiles!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My mom’s! 2008 marked the launch of her jewelry business Marjorie’s Cracked and it’s doing great!
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Well… I can’t really post that here
14. Where did most of your money go?
Moving. Twice. And rent, as always.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Beginning to date SB. And the Sex and the City Movie.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Oh that’s a good question. I’d have to say the Horror of our Love by Ludo because I played it approximately 698,459 times, but that’s just been the past few months. Also, any ridiculous pop song that’s been on the radio because I’ve listened to it waayy too many times. And Labels and Love by Fergies because it’s Sex and the City.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
b) thinner or fatter?
c) richer or poorer?
Happier, FATTER, and probably about the same financially
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Writing, working out, good deeds like volunteering, and spending more time with friends who have drifted away
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Less procrastinating, and less eating, definitely.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my mom and grandmother!
21. Did you fall in love in 2008?
Yes <3
22. What was your favorite TV program?
Sex in the City (on DVD), The Office, The Hills, South Park
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No
24. What was the best book you read?
Eat Pray Love hands down. It’s a really great book
25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Haven’t had any major breakthroughs. I think I finally caved into the fact that on certain occasions I do like pop music. I listened to the Horror of our Love millions of times and have not tired of it yet. And I rediscovered some of my old favorites.
26. What did you want and get?
An A in all of my classes. A raise.
27. What did you want and not get?
Thinner
28. What was your favorite film of this year?
Sex and the City, of course.
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
24 and I spent it at this cute little bar/restaurant on the water with my closest friends. Definitely the best birthday in a really really long time.
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Hmmm… that’s tough, but I could only say having more money.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Getting more and more… girly. Big jewelry and really high shoes.
32. What kept you sane?
My mom, my friends, SB
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Can’t think of any right now except John Krasinski, though I know there were more
34. What political issue stirred you the most?
The election, of course.
35. Who did you miss?
Those who I didn’t get to see as often as I would have liked
36. Who was the best new person you met?
My one friend from work, who I know started in October of 2007, but who I didn’t start getting to know and becoming really great friends with until 2008. So, she counts.
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.
Enjoy every moment!!
